Objectives

Sustentar aims to support the production of a series of projects that focus on experimental initiatives currently being implemented in Portugal that respond to the ecological and social challenges we now face. Sustentar is intended to promote and highlight good practices and relevant trends in the context of ecological, social and economic sustainability, to encourage a more active, resilient and responsible citizenship in the conservation of natural resources and cultural heritage.

More specifically, through Sustentar, we aim to:

Create an art project platform with sustainability as its thematic axis, that contributes to a greater critical awareness about the ecological and social vulnerabilities we face.

Develop a space for experiences that intersect art, politics, ecology, society and education and stimulates constructive dialogues between artistic and civic principles;

Value innovative and experimental initiatives related to sustainability practices that are being implemented in Portugal. Identify themes and factors that value the territory of each municipality in terms of natural and cultural heritage;

Identify themes and factors that value the national territory in terms of natural and cultural heritage;

Promote awareness of the local community and society in general about ecological knowledge, conservation of natural, cultural and social ecosystems as elements that enhance the territory. Disseminate artistic production and initiatives carried in this project at national and international levels;

Design and disseminate artistic production and initiatives carried out within the scope of this project at national and international levels.
