Grants

Sustentar has 6 grants for the development of new visual arts projects. Each selected participant will receive a grant of €800.00 (eight hundred euros) and 100,00€ (one hundred euros) to help cover travel expenses. In addition, the selected artists will have the opportunity to participate in 2 creative residences and 2 workshops. There will also be face-to-face and online mentoring with the curators, as well as their accompaniment during the creation process. The work produced will be included in a travelling exhibition within Portugal and will also be exhibited in the Bienal'21 Fotografia do Porto and in selected partners’ exhibition spaces.

Each grant corresponds to a project that was or is being implemented by each partner in the social and / or environmental field (see the description of each project below).

Évora City Council

Museological Center of Salt. Enhancing the “Salina do Corredor da Cobra” as a natural and cultural heritage.

Loulé City Council

Algarvensis Loulé-Silves-Albufeira Geopark. Protecting and valuing a 350 million year old history.

Mértola City Council

Agroecological transition. Tackling climate change using syntropic agriculture.

Setúbal City Council

Setúbal Preserves Grito do Povo and Pescadores neighborhoods. Minimizing social vulnerabilities while preserving identity and memories.

EDIA

Alqueva. Boosting the adaptation of the Montados cultural landscape to climate change.
