Triennial Magazine (ESCAPE) Provoke and Inspire

Air pollution, water scarcity, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, climate change: these human-caused environmental problems are our concern. But what role can artists play in the face of these pressing problems of our time? The [ESCAPE] exhibition and workshop programme coordinated by Virgílio Ferreira, Krzysztof Candrowicz and Christian Barbe addresses ways artistic practice can promote the discussion on sustainable cultures and environmental issues. [ESCAPE] is the beginning of an open-ended project which can not only be interpreted as critical evidence but also as an invitation for action.
