The artistic residency at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto is held in the space recently acquired for the expansion of its premises, which includes the former Narciso e Azevedo family mansion (1879), the Fogões Meireles ovens factory and its associated housing. As a laboratory of visual experimentation permanently being updated, the photographic essays of Diana Carvalho, João Paulo Lima, Miguel Refresco and Nicole Tsangaris translate the singularity of this space and reflect the experiences and socioeconomic transformations that have defined it, permitting their display on different scales and times. This photographic tropism - the image of the mutation of this space - allows us to decipher the polarities that make it stand out and highlight the heterogeneous contiguities that relate it to the city.

The artistic residency ran between November 2018 and April 2019.
